As we head towards a new year you may be thinking that next year is the one where you're going to get into shape. It seems to me that almost everyone has this thought right after Christmas.
"I'm really going to get in shape this year!" Chances are you've said this to yourself before. How did that end up going? I'm betting it didn't go too well. If you're like most people, you probably started out doing pretty well but then slowly faded because you didn't see any results or got frustrated.
You're not alone. The real truth is that most gyms set you up for failure right from the start! Here's what you need to look out for:
Mass Confusion
The moment after you sign up for a gym membership it's like your being thrown into the fire! The amount of equipment in a regular gym is downright intimidating. How do they all work?
Sadly, many gym's don't even give you a proper walk through or even show you how to use each machine. They have no problems taking your money and then let YOU figure out what to do from there.
Make sure that you have someone from the gym show you how to use all of the machines and also give you a full tour of the facilities.
Once you know what everything is for and how to use it, the next step is to come up with a plan.
It's All About The Plan
The one thing you absolutely need is a solid workout plan.
If you've ever been to a gym regularly it's a pretty good chance that you've seen some people that fit this description: they are always there working out, almost every single day, yet they always look the same. Their bodies never change for the better. They perform the strangest and most dangerous exercises you've ever witnessed. They also seem to switch exercises at random.
They have no plan. No plan = no results.
Ask the gym owner if they have a sample workout plan they can recommend. It's a good chance that they'll have a bunch of stuff that they can give to you. If not, you'll be able to find a bunch of workout routines either online or at the local library that you can use for free.
Motivation is Key
The next step after knowing what you are doing and having a plan to follow, is to stay motivated. Unfortunately no one ever talks about exercise motivation. If gym owners should give you anything, it should be a manual on how to stay motivated.
That's one of the reasons why I came up with an exercise motivation system. It's a step-by-step plan that you can follow to keep you motivated and seeing results. It works for anyone, at any age, at any fitness level. Click here if you'd like to read more about it. I guarantee that you'll love it!
I hope you've enjoyed this article and I wish you all the best on your fitness journey,

Weight Lifting Muscle Program: How To Turbo-charge Your Fat Loss & Get A Great Body!
If you are finding it difficult to get the physique you desire by performing cardio alone, you might want to think about beginning a weight lifting muscle building program. You can actually increase your body's fat burning power and add muscle mass by starting an effective weight lifting routine. Let's investigate why gaining lean muscle mass is so essential and sought after.
Why Lean Muscle Mass Is Important
The desire for men wanting to gain muscle mass is well known. Most men secretly desire big muscles and a fit body not only because it is appealing to themselves, but because it is attractive to women as well. On the other hand, because of the fear that it will make them look big or bulky, most women avoid gaining muscle mass. This is utterly not the case. When women add lean muscle it makes them look lean, toned and sculpted. Instead of thinking about looking like a female bodybuilder, you should imagine the body of an athlete or fitness model.
It is possible to add approximately one pound of muscle per week to your body. Since muscle burns more calories than fat, gaining this one pound means that you will burn approximately 50 extra calories a day just while resting. It's a surprise to most to learn that while sleeping or resting your body actually burns calories. The amount of lean muscle mass on your body plays a huge factor in the amount of calories that you burn. Over the course of a number of months you can see how this can truly add together.
You'll Look And Feel Great
In addition to increasing your fat burning power and your appearance, a weight lifting muscle building routine makes you feel good!
You'll not only have elevated strength and energy, but a more positive outlook on life and a brighter mood. You'll find that this even grows over time. You'll have increased motivation and more dramatic and quicker results based on the amount of effort you put in.
Can you imagine feeling physically and mentally fantasic each and every day? This is feasible for anyone to accomplish and is the ultimate goal.
You Can Do it!
By starting a weight lifting muscle building plan you can start on the way to a new body both physically and mentally. I invite you to give a weight lifting routine a try if you are unhappy with your current exercise and cardio plan. I guarantee that if you stick with it you'll not only feel amazing, but will look better than you ever have before.

Don't Let Cardio Bore You! A Weight Loss Lifting Program Will Give You Faster Results
There's a huge reason why almost all people don't stick to a regular cardio program. It's dull!
Even if you are super motivated to get in shape, you most likely wont stick with any cardio routine if it is boring and you dread doing it. A weight loss lifting program is exciting, varied, and will have you seeing more impressive results than cardio alone. In addition to that, there's a whole host of other benefits to be gained from beginning a weight lifting program.
One big reason to start a weight training program is that it raises your metabolism. If you have a faster metabolism, your body will burn more calories while you are in a resting state. That's right, even when you are not in the gym your body is burning calories. Lifting weights will also help you build lean muscle mass which, in addition to making you look lean, burns more calories than fat.
A solid weight loss lifting program will also provide you with more energy, improved posture, and put you in an improved mood. These large benefits are often neglected. If you have more energy and are feeling great about yourself, it is more likely that you will maintain your training. This all leads to increased motivation and greater results and progress.
In addition to doing your daily cardio routines, why not try something different? A weight loss lifting program will enhance your mood, increase your energy, raise your metabolism, and have you feeling fantastic and looking better than you ever have before. Give it a try and I believe you'll be stunned at how fantastic you'll look and feel.

How To Pick the Best Fat Burning, Weight Lifting Program for You
If you are worn-out with your daily cardio sessions, one of the most effective things you can do to boost your fat loss is to begin a regular weight lifting program. Frequent resistance training is beneficial to everyone no matter what your age or gender. When picking a weight lifting program you want to make sure that it has easy to follow exercises and you also want to make sure that it has a nutrition component as well. Let's explore these two ideas and see how they can really affect your exercise program.
If you really want to see huge fat burning results, adding a lifting program can make a huge difference, but it doesn't have to be hard. By doing basic exercises you will be done with your routine quicker and get a better workout. A couple of good lifts to begin with are the bench press, squat, deadlift and rows.
For best results, avoid using exercise machines. Dumbbells or barbells are your best bet and you'll see faster results and burn more calories. By incorporating these extra muscles you will see quicker and more noticeable results than using fitness machines which generally target an individual muscle and have limited movement.
You'll also want to find a weight lifting program that can help you setup a good nutrition plan. Some programs will show you what you shouldn't eat and will give you many healthy alternatives. Try to find a nutrition plan that gives you numerous choices of what you can eat and doesn't force you to count every last calorie. Don't forget that you want this to be enjoyable and fun, not difficult.
Try to keep these two points in mind when choosing a weight training or exercise program you will see great results that will keep you happy and motivated.
